On April 2, 2009, in Ripon, California, Epicurean Dust was launched as an innovative line of all-natural fruit dust for culinary and home use.
Our fruit dust consists of nothing but 100% pure, natural, fruit, no additives or preservatives. Epicurean dust brings flavor back to basics by making fresh fruit available to any chef's fingertips, no matter what the season while adding no additional colors, flavors, or fillers.
The idea for the product struck Chef John Mangelos, the company's owner, as he was on board of directors of the International Caterers Association. During his time with the organization he was offered a tremendous opportunity, he was invited to help cater for the Olympic Games. While working the games in Salt Lake City, Athens, Greece and Torino, Italy he realized that there was a need for the flavors of fresh fruit that might not be local to the area or in the dead of winter where the supply of fruit was unavailable or in short supply, something that could be transported and stored while still retaining the flavors that we all love.
The chefs that were part of the organization shared ideas and were constantly looking for ways to improve what they did. In conversation with his associates he found away to offer a product that filled a need of the professional chef and the home chef as well.
With that thought in mind, he founded Epicurean dust.
